Stitching all of the stars is solitary work. So I like to sit in my local cafe or diner around people and stitch the stars while I eat. Every time I do, people stop to look at what I am doing. It never fails that I am asked if my stars are for sale. That got me thinking. (Hmmmm...) Why not make it possible that when a 9/11 family or friend sees their loved one's star, they can take it home with them? So I designed these custom plaques, hand stitiched by me, so that they can.

When you let me know who the plaque is for, I will stitch their name and the actual star that has been assigned to them. Each plaque will be in a beautiful 8" x 10" frame that has a black velvet back and easel stand so that it can be placed on a table or hung on a wall. The frame design may change based upon availability, but I promise to only choose the nicest to showcase this special piece.

Since the stars for the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and EMS are preassigned, those plaques can be customized now. Please understand that until the memorial project is complete and on display, I will not be able to do plaques for the civilians, since I do not know what star each of them will be getting.
